Basketball Training Center

Our basketball training center is located at Vermont Sport & Fitness on Curtis Avenue in Rutland, VT where Coach McDonough trains year round. This facility and relationship has grown with Dan & Leslie Doenges and provides the perfect environment for advancing each athlete and focusing on their very specific individual needs.

Whether it be footwork, dribbling, ball handling, shooting technique, post moves or free throws, this space allows us to work on it all. Coach McDonough considers his training center a “basketball lab” where players can try new things and make adjustments in a non-judgmental environment, all while focusing on the individuals mental approach to the game.

His earliest memories are with a basketball in his hand, since his “daycare” was the Mount Saint Joseph gymnasium where his father Marty McDonough coached and taught for four decades. As a youngster, Coach McDonough’s basketball journey took him around the country. He played hoops at high profile basketball camps, served as point guard for his high school team at MSJ, where his excellence on the court netted him a scholarship to play hoops for the Catamounts at the University of Vermont. There he redshirted his first year, completed his business degree in four years and used his grad assistant coaching year to complete his Masters degree in public administration.

The basketball journey continued after college with stints with a professional Norwegian team, tryouts in Amsterdam, and a job as a player/coach in Germany in the Bundesliga League. After his stint in Germany, more tryouts in Paris and Brooklyn followed and eventually Coach landed back in Vermont after many international travels and a new world view. Finding new passions in travel, golf and snowboarding but wanting to keep that basketball still in his hand he started Triple Threat Sports which has become what it is today.

Private Yoga with Stephanie A. Jones, E-RYT

We offer one hour private yoga sessions with Stephanie Jones, E-RYT. Stephanie is trained in many styles of yoga, from slow, meditative restorative and yin practices to more flowing, athletic experiences. Stephanie will work with each client to tailor the sessions to their unique needs.

Private Yoga Packages
A one-hour standard session is $75 ($60 for VS&F members).
A five-hour standard package is $325 ($275 for VS&F members).

5-Week Outdoor Boot Camp

Saturdays 9-10 am, June 22nd – July 20th, 2024

A fun and challenging fitness experience. This class features an intense 60-minute full-body hardcore boot camp-style workout. The benefits are increased athletic ability, conditioning, and physical resilience.
