How Long Should I Use The Steam Room For?

The length of time will vary depending on your preference. If it is your first time it is best to start with 5-10 minutes, inhaling and exhaling slowly while allowing your body to relax. It is recommended that you stay in the steam no longer than 20 minutes. Proven to raise your metabolism, the average person will burn approximately 150 calories in a 15-minute steam bathing session.

What Are The Benefits Of Steam?

Soothing Muscles & Joints
After a rigorous workout, the steam works to relax stiff joints and promote muscular flexibility. By removing lactic acid from overworked muscles the recovery process is quicker and the likelihood of injury is greatly decreased. Those who suffer from the discomfort arthritis often use steam to alleviate symptoms as well.

Breathing & Detoxification
The gentle heat causes the blood vessels to expand which increase blood flow and lymphatic circulation. This system works to remove toxins from the body and strengthen the body’s immune defenses. Steam can also reduce inflammation and congestion of the upper respiratory system which can relieve symptoms of coughing, asthma, and throat irritation. A steam bath also opens the nasal passages often easing the distress associated with allergies.

Beauty & Skin Health
Steam provides an intensive and complete cleansing effect on the skin. As your pores open, the air acts as a deep cleanse nourishing the skin with nutrients. By hydrating the skin, reducing signs of fine lines and wrinkles, and enhancing the development of collagen, you will notice a healthy pink glow making you look younger and rejuvenated! The heat acts as an emulsifying agent against fat in sebaceous glands and is proven is most effective in the treatment of cellulite (compared to body wraps and creams.) Combined with the anti-aging properties of Eucalyptus oil, a steam bath an effective way to keep your skin healthy and glowing naturally without expensive creams or harsh chemicals.

Why Eucalyptus?

The soothing scent of eucalyptus has been used for thousands of years as a healing therapeutic agent. Made from fresh or partially dried leaves from the eucalyptus plant, the active ingredient Eucalyptol is believed to be a highly effective treatment for many ailments. Most commonly known for treating respiratory problems, Eucalyptus oil also exhibits antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, deodorizing, and antiseptic properties. By working to eliminate lactic acid buildup, the oils ease muscle tension and pain. After a long day, 15 minutes in a steam bath with eucalyptus can also greatly improve your mental state and help your body get the rest it needs. Immediately stimulating the senses, Eucalyptus has been found to be effective in treating stress and mental exhaustion by aiding in deep relaxation of the body and mind, contributing to a more restful sleep.
