Clinic Format

Clinic will start with a dynamic warm-up with some HITT training to put emphasis on physical conditioning. After the warm-up, we will cover basic striking for offense and defense. Then we will cover the lesson plan for the evening and do a scenario-based drill that is practical and allows the member to utilize what they have learned.

Week 1

Situational Awareness and Evasion Techniques: Basic stance and striking for offense and defense. This will cover Interpersonal/ intimate space and the 17-foot rule.

Week 2

Trapped in a corner or bottleneck: Outnumbered or in a dangerous spot – don’t get stuck in a chokepoint. Evasion techniques include RAM theory, and fighting your way out of a bad situation.

Week 3

Close Quarter Combat: Hallways and stairwells are natural bottlenecks, learn to not entrap trap yourself in a bad position. Mock hallway scenario to include the use of more striking and kicks in an up close or small movement area.

Week 4

Low light environments: Nighttime changes everything- we will practice all of our striking and use what we have learned with the lights dimmed down low.

Week 5

Celebration of knowledge: This is not a pass-or-fail test but one where you can put the skills you have learned to use. The goal is to show that you can utilize everything you have learned and apply it to real-world situations.
